About CAGR
The Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) is the mean annual growth rate of an investment over a specified period of time longer than one year. It represents the smoothed annual rate at which an investment would have grown if it had grown at a steady rate, assuming profits are reinvested at the end of each year.
The Formula
CAGR = ((Ending Value / Beginning Value) ^ (1 / Years) − 1) × 100. For example, an investment that grows from $1,000 to $2,000 over 5 years has a CAGR of approximately 14.87%.
