SWOLF Calculator
Measure your swimming efficiency by combining your stroke count and time for a single lap
SWOLF Score
A lower SWOLF score means more efficient swimming.
Breakdown
About SWOLF
SWOLF (a blend of "swim" and "golf") is a measure of swimming efficiency. Like golf, a lower score is better. You add the number of strokes you take for a lap to the time in seconds it takes to swim that lap. Improving either your stroke count or your speed lowers your SWOLF score.
Formula
- SWOLF = Strokes + Time (seconds)
Tips to Improve
- Lengthen your stroke to cover more distance per pull
- Improve your turns and streamline off the wall
- Track SWOLF over time to monitor progress

Note: SWOLF is a relative efficiency metric and is most useful when compared against your own results over time and at a consistent pool length. These calculations assume your stroke count and lap time are accurate.
